Explore the World at Winternational

There are many reasons why the Nation's Capital is one of the best cities to be in. Not only does Washington, DC house our country's political dignitaries, but it is also the home to over 177 embassies and diplomatic missions. Individual embassies will often engage the public through events to showcase their representing country, however on December 6th, spectators were able to tour over 50 countries all in one place during Winternational.

Winternational is a year-end embassy showcase at the Ronald Reagan building and International Trade Center (RRB/ITC) which exhibited culture, tourism, and trade initiatives. Walking through a bazaar-like format, visitors were able shop, taste, and see artifacts native to various cultures around the world. Food and fashion were the highlight of the mid-day event as exhibits displayed colorful garments and food samples were abundant. Those in search for exotic holiday gifts or just wanted to take a piece of the experience home, much of the decorated displays were for available for purchase, if not free.

Embassies in attendance included Afghanistan, African Union Mission, Armenia, Australia, Bahamas, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Botswana, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Costa Rica, Egypt, El Salvador, European Union Delegation, Fiji, Ghana, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Indonesia, Kenya, Kosovo, Latvia, Lesotho, Lithuania, Malawi, Malaysia, Moldova, Mongolia, Morocco, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Qatar, Russia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, Uzbekistan and Vietnam
